The Hon. Peter Beattie, Dinner February 2023

Hamilton Wealth Partners  hosted The Hon. Peter Beattie AC for a dinner at Kooyong. Mr Beattie is currently a Senior Advisor at Bondi Partners and previously served as the 36th Premier of Queensland.

The dinner was held on the 9th of February, 2023 at Kooyong Tennis Club.

The Hon. Peter Beattie AC

The Hon. Peter Beattie AC is a Senior Advisor at Bondi Partners. Mr Beattie has extensive experience in project development and investment both in Australia and the United States.

Mr Beattie served as the 36th Premier of Queensland and Minister for Trade from 1998 to 2007 and Leader of the Australian Labor Party in that state from 1996 to 2007.

Following his retirement from politics, Mr Beattie and his wife Heather lived in the US from 2008-2015, including when he was appointed Queensland’s Trade and Investment Commissioner to the Americas from 2008-10, based in Los Angeles.

As Queensland Premier, Mr Beattie signed a Sister State Agreement between Queensland and the State of South Carolina. Later he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of South Carolina for this work.

While in the U.S., Mr Beattie was an advisor and guest lecturer on global economic development strategies at Clemson University, South Carolina (ranked 25th US public university by US News & World Report). He was also an American board member of the American/Australian Dialogue Board and a member of the University of Queensland America Inc.

In 2011, the Australian Government appointed Mr Beattie as Australia’s first Resources Sector Supplier Envoy charged with promoting a Buy Australian at Home and Abroad program for supplying products to the Australian resources industry.

Mr Beattie was awarded an AC (Order of Australia) in 2012.

Mr Beattie is currently Director of Brandon BioCatalyst; Commissioner of the Australian Rugby League Commission (NRL); Director of the International Rugby League Board and; Director of the Asia Pacific Rugby league Board.

Mr Beattie is an Ambassador for Life Sciences Queensland, joint adjunct professor at the University of Queensland’s Australian Institute for Bioengineering & Nanotechnology & Institute for Molecular Bioscience. He is the former Chairman of GOLDOC (Organising Committee for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast) and a former member of the University of Queensland’s Industry Engagement Council.
